If it's one of the things that makes it so magical, it's Disney Princess. Now there are 10 Princess, you can argue is an Ambassador for Disney, each with their own personality and look. It all began with Snow White and for decades we've met more starred in the role of Princess of their own, but they are not always the same.
We have looked at the role of Princess ' pretty dramatic changes, which is a reflection of how society sees women as a whole. If we analyze the film further we can see why this is the case.
Disney's Golden Age
In 1937, we saw the first full feature film animation, Disney Princess snow white and the seven dwarves. Served as the maid Queen of evil, he lived a fairly harsh existence, until he escapes and stumbles at home dwarf it. However, she is still not safe from the evil Queen's plan and needed a Prince came to the rescue.
After this we have Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty, both of which became a victim of the evil villain and also requires saved by a Prince. There seems to be a trend here. The Princess is currently viewed as helpless victims who need to be saved. For the moment, the community saw this as normal. Unfortunately, women were denied equal rights with men, as they are doing today and this is reflected in a way, the movie.
Each Princess was resigned to the House-keeping duties and are thought to have little ambition, but this will all change following the Disney Renaissance.
Disney Renaissance
After several years of emigration after the Golden Age of Disney, movie studios make a comeback in 1989 with the release of The Little Mermaid. Perhaps one of the most popular daughter, Ariel is a character with ambitions and dreams. There is no longer a Princess Disney seen as victims of a crime mob.
Ariel is ambitious and will be looking for his goal through the means necessary, even if that means he should sacrifice his voice all the way. However, he still needed a Prince to rescue her at the end of the day.
It becomes a bit more ambiguous with Disney films then followed during the renaissance. Mulan doesn't need a Prince to rescue her and she ended up beating the bad guys by himself. She seems to be stuck in between conflict and some could argue that he actually saved John Smith.
The Second Renaissance
Rumors of the Disney Renaissance Both be true. Disney had another turbulent time towards the end of the 90s and early 2000s. with this come changes in the way we see the Princess again. This time they are far more ambitious, standing alone against the obstacles to achieve their dreams. Tiana wants to build his own restaurant and Rapunzel wanted to escape the tower and see the world. They finally achieved to want to do with very little outside help.
Not only this, but we are seeing a reversal of roles as Prince is now offering complete! Cursed frog and thieves that you want from the Princess and the Frog and now need the help of Tangled Princess to save them.
We are now seeing women as strong individuals who are able to achieve the goals of their own, away from the Disney films of the 1930s and 40s echo how media. This echoes what we see in the community. But let's not forget what this film is really about and true message that have been developed with Disney story says.
Story told by Disney have moved away from fairy tales and more focused on achieving our dreams. You will be able to see it each time you visit the parks like Walt Disney World or Disneyland. Inspirational messages that are plastered everywhere encourage you to follow your dreams and if you want it and work hard enough, they will become a reality.
This is ultimately what Disney has become and act as the Princess ' story telling device for this. We can always expect from Disney, with the only change now is how we act as a society that will affect how the story plays out.
